Boastful Pride

Daniel 5:20

When your heart turns arrogant with pride,
You block the throne of God that's inside;
God will depose you stripping your glory,
To be found guilty by the judge and jury.
A lesson that many will still need to learn,
That the glory of God and one has to earn;
No one bestows on a silver platter to anyone,
Rather weighed against what you've done;
God opposes all who's boastful and proud,
The one who shouts "I" and "ME" aloud;
You know the ones that are always pushy,
Everything their way so nice and cushy;
They expect everyone to cater to them,
If it's not right they are quick to condemn;
Instead He gives grace one that is humble,
And never complains or tries to mumble;
It is wise to walk humbly with our God,
Since we're far from perfect, being flawed;
Following God with His blessing and grace,
As to someday able to meet face to face.
