Things That Go Bump in the Night

Psalm 23:4

Even though walking in the dark city slums,
We will not be afraid or become victims;
Knowing that God is here with us everyday,
Guarding us and guiding us all the way.
Did you ever get an uneasy feeling at night?
Walking in an alley where there's no light;
Maybe driving on the wrong side of town,
Fearful of someone trying to gun you down;
How about a shortcut through a cemetery,
Start to get this certain feeling so eerie;
You are waking through a deserted house,
Then shrieking to the sound of a mouse;
Noises at night always seem to amplify,
Our worst fears that appear to exemplify;
The greatest fear which is of the unknown,
Especially during times with being alone;
You are of little faith as a phobia shows,
Only believing to see in front of your nose;
Faith is blind to that, which will reassure,
That God is with you through life's detour.
