Addicted to life.

I awake.
My first fix is the sunlight.
Feeling her warmth surge through my veins…
Wash over my skin.
I remember my last fix…
A dream of colours…
My body gives in to my addiction…
Will it be a good fix?
Will it mix with whatever still exists… inside?
Soon I will know…
I will feel the glow of the coming day…
Then open my door and be compelled to say…
Thank you.
Thank you for this day of mine…
The warming rays…
And all that’s fine.
For the gift of life and all it brings,
For the setting sun and the wind that sings.
I am addicted to life…
I feel all things.
The radiance of goodness…
And the evil it brings.
