HOME OF THE FLOWING PEN

Please tell me I can close my eyes
And just live in yesterday
When the tears falling from our eyes
Would have fallen then in vain

Tell me I can turn back time
Before everything went wrong
And lose myself in the laughter
That rang out like a song

Tell me I can look again
At the smile I brought to you
As you listened to my words of praise
For the precious things you do

Tell me I can get lost again
In the poems that I have read
And memorize them word for word
So they dance then in my head

Tell me I can erase the pain
We've known since that sorrowed end
Instead of closing my eyes for yesterday
Within dreams of my sweet friend
