APATHY

I walked up to a man one day,a poll is what I'm taken
the answers that were giving me,had left me badly shaken.

He said to me that question sir,I don't know how to view
My opinion does'nt matter much,there's nothing I could do.

I don't know if I do or not,care less,one way or another
as long as it don't happen here,don't concern me none brother.

Don't give out no opinon,don't matter much you see..
I don't care what happens er',if they don't bother me.

If it ain't broke don't fix it,that's what my pappy said
He did'nt care before he left,don't care now that he's dead.

Don't get involved,not our affair,just mind your P's and Q's..
Just live your life,let them live theirs,that's the life I choose.

I don't make waves,won't rock the boat,let sleeping dogs just lie
not my fight,what's wrong or right,can't change was his reply.

don't put my nose in them affairs or stick my neck out,see..
just live my life,take care of wife,my job and family.

The poll was titled "Get Involved" on History uncompleated
will we learn from past mistakes or doom us to repeat it!

I thought about his answers,closed the book upon my knee
so many feel that way I thought,the word is APATHY!
