Heavenly Warning

I Thessalonians 5:16-23

Rejoice forever more, pray without ceasing,
Give thanks for all, God's will is gracing;
For it is in Jesus Christ on concerning you,
Quell not the Spirit's fire causing devalue;
Heed warnings in prophecy, don't despise,
Hold on to all that is good, which is wise;
Avoid all evil and the temptations thereof,
The God of Peace will lavish you with love.
We take it for granted in all that we got,
Maybe actually more than we really ought;
When it is going so well we tend to forget,
Our need to pray and confessing our debt;
All is going so great, what can go wrong?
Thinking no need of the Spirit so strong;
Sunday comes, feeling like sleeping late,
No need for church for the Lord can wait;
Heed the warning, handwriting on the wall,
Sinful temptations will be making you fall;
Then you will be crawling back to repent,
Ask forgiveness and compassion be sent.
