After all that's said and done,
its been one hell of a run.
Early years of fire and thunder,
days on the edge with a military gun,
later days of sunshine and fun.
I've been there, done that, climbed the
mountain, sailed the seas and now it's
time to tip my hat. The years have
come and gone, the names are the same,
but the faces are wrinkled and drawn.
Time has its way, extracting from us
all a little each and everyday.
But that all right, in order for the new
to blossom the old must take flight.
Regrets I have few, for like most I
have collected my dues and that's all
that can be expected from
a life that I selected.
No more, no less. Not the worst nor the
best, but in the end, I can sigh and say;
"What the hell I lived it my way!"
