Skip a Rock

They skim across the water,
skipping four or five times.
If your good, you might get
seven or eight hits in a line.
It’s great fun!

Kind like pitching
pennies in the sun,
are kicking can on
the run.
Playing cork ball in
the street, that too…
is a lot of fun.

But I’ve got to say,
Skipping rocks on the water
is my favorite game to play,
almost as much fun as
fishing  with my Grandpa
on my tenth birthday.

Skip a rock!
