stardust

Reach up; hands burn through Earth's skies
Char my skin and bring water to my eyes
Touch the star, grab it, hold it, and make it mine
And squeeze its soul to dust so fine
Stardust, magic, so pure and true
And sprinkle its contents all over you

Watch its dust sink into your skin
And wait for the magic to begin
Stardust, so rare and valuable powder
Stops all noises of pain getting louder
Brings smiles and tears to you face
And happiness and peace to the human race

Stardust, what I took from the sky above me
The burns on my arms and hands plain to see
But someone had to do it, bring magic back
And cast our hearts out of the black
Stardust let me sprinkle some on you
And may all your dreams you wish come true
