Poetic Verses Of Love And Sorrow
The Nest
"The Nest"
One day a baby bird
I was to see
Had fallen from above
High in a tree
I had to help this little bird
Who could not fly
I didn't know how
But I had to try
On a branch it's mother
Watching from above
Looking at her baby
With so much love
In the pocket of my shirt
I put the baby bird
Had the cutest little chirp
I'd ever heard
Up the tree we climbed
Inch by inch
For me it was hard
For the bird it was a cinch
I could not believe
What next I was to see
The mother flew over
To to the baby an me
As I turned
I felt a gentle peck
Upon my cheek
Was the mother thanking me
Her only way to speak.
