As the silence falls around me
A distant voice I hear
As I listen closely
I feel the touch of familiar tears

I reach out to the emptiness
Hoping just once to feel your hand
To pull you closely to me
To never let go again

I search for your loving face
Praying just to see your smile
To see that look in your eyes
That I have longed for all the while

I've tried many times to run to you
Yet my way I can not see
As I realize that I am alone
Familiar tears won't leave me be
