Chastened Love of God

Hebrews 12:4-7

Not resisting a blood to strive against sin,
Seems if you forgot why Christ had been;
So despise not God how He could chasten,
So accept and be relieved of sinful laden;
All who are dearly beloved God disciplines,
Scourging all before their new life begins;
God deals with you as sons and daughters,
Prior to continuing into Heavenly waters.
We are all of children of God can you see,
You know what He means to you and me;
Maybe you forgot the agony and torment,
As Christ suffered and died what it meant;
That is the reason why we have to endure,
The hardships and the trials as we mature;
Teaching us humility and also to restrain,
Learning to be patient in anger to refrain;
That as Christ suffered so us be the same,
Allowing for inheritance to stake our claim;
God loves all His children enough to scold,
To live and to learn as to grow and to mold.
