The Sun

The unrelenting heat generator
of our universe, the light source
for each day of our lives, and
a human morale builder after
each storm.

You can bet that it will rise
in the East and set in the West,
and will always keep us warm.

Ninety two million miles away,
yet its radiation will burn you,
and if you look directly into
its face,  it will blind you,
so they say.

Its been called; the red star,
soleil, morning star and many
other titles, but each day it
rises as the brilliant daylight
star anew.

The sun has been in our solar system
for billions of years, and more than
likely will be there for billions more
before it explodes and turns to sand.

The sun is the life of  our universe,
and a gift to us from God's hand.
