A  Mortal Sin

Between darkness and dawn,
the mortal limits of terror are
shattered, plunging my naked
soul to the gates of hell and
beyond.

The agonizing pain of my mortal
sin, announced loudly by the
warlock of the devil’s den.

On my knees, for mercy
I plead…take this stone
of guilt from my aching
heart, which forever
must bleed.

With a mesmerizing stare
from his glaring red eyes,
that spoke the unadulterated
truth without a single lie.

From unmoving lips,
he silent pronounced;
Guilt!

For you are simply a mortal man,
and here and now, you admit
that you have wasted the gift of time…
Time and time again!

And that my earthly friend,
is an unforgivable mortal sin!
