A Faded Rose

My Darling…
I’ve held your memory through
all these years, like the pressed
petals of a faded rose with
a million heartfelt tears.

A harsh wind blows,
as I stand here holding
one fresh red rose.

O’ how I wish we could be together
again, and someday we shall when
my days come to an end.

Then…
and only then, will we walk hand in hand
through those beautiful rose garden gates.
Where bright red roses will continuously  grow
and our love like the morning star,
will forever shine and glow.
