Dust

I turn to dust
Whenever I glance over
Expecting to see you standing there
With your love's residue awaiting my internal embrace
You are not there
Vanished within seconds
Slowly
Slowly

I turn to dust
Always expecting to hear your voice
Reminding me of your presence
Only to break my heart
Over & over again
Pieces never to be completed
Into a collage of a romance
A future
Forever erased

I turn to dust
That once built on the past
Now  built of strength
Stronger than pride
Stronger than love's deceitful lies
More honorable than truth seeking light
Completion
Destination achieved
I turned to dust
