Teaching Our Children

Deuteronomy 6:4-9

The Lord of God is the one and only Lord,
As Our Lord God is to be loved and adored;
With all of your heart and all of your soul,
As with all your strength love Him whole;
Keep these words in which to you I say,
Deep in your hearts each and every day;
Teach them to your children with the care,
As you have some conversation to share;
In the morning or at night while you rest,
Before going to sleep or getting up is best;
Let them write on the palm of their hand,
Even next to the bed on their nightstand.
Scripture reading is important for a child,
Instilling the Word before becoming defiled;
For talking to them every chance you get,
In knowing the Bible as a valuable asset;
Teaching them the values that it extends,
As well as the timeless messages it sends;
Our children are our future for to preserve,
The promises of God as to why we serve.
