As The Mountain Calls My Name
High upon the peaks the wind blows cold;
Calling my name through echos bold!
Pulling my spirit were it may go;
Deep to the caverns under the mountain's crown!
There is where my soul belongs;
Locked in nature's embrace through song!
Calling deeply, ever so sweetly to those feelings I have so strong!
When I'm buried, and long since gone;
Scatter my ashes where snow deep falls!
Thus to capture my nature's heart;
Left to sleep sweetly upon the mountain meadows' part!
There shall I meander until called by God;
Embraced by his flowers in perfumed throngs!
So I beg let me rest my weary brow's place;
Throw away all those pains that man embraced!
Let me mingle with the pleasures of elements calm;
So that I may live in nature were I've always belonged!
So now I wish so deeply that you know I care;
You need simply look to the hills to know I'm there!
So I'm never ever lost to our friendship's dreams;
As I watch over you dearly from mountain streams!
