Spirit

I feel your spirit longing,
confined within this space-
the aged and crippled body,
Mortality, has it's place.

I feel your spirit weeping,
for those, who've gone before-
but, now, their journey's over,
they've, opened up that door.

I feel your spirit dreaming,
for, days not filled with pain;
a time, you'll be embracing,
those, you see again!!

I feel your spirit tingle,
as you approach that place-
that breath that God has leant you,
is, leaving now, this space.

I feel your spirit leaving,
as, slowly, you exhale,
your pain, your sorrow, and grieving;
are now; a memory's trail.

I feel your spirit smiling,
as now you surely see--
the light, the love and happiness;
that is Eternity!!

My brother passed away today, and my remaining Aunt on my mother's side passed on Valentine's Day...This poem is for them!
