Despair

The satellite came and circled Mars
From the planet being spoiled by cars
The inhabitants exhibited utter despair
Their secret seas were discovered there
Frozen water laid hidden underground
The planet rocked with despairing sound
All those years disguised as crumbling stones
In the hopes they'd be left all on their own
Come to naught because some idle nutter
Forgot to close the concealing shutter
They though their planet very nice
With it's solid seas of water ice
Their lovely red land, calm and still
Would soon resound to sound of drill
The invaders would come to build a town
For their virulent hordes to settle down
The galactic guardians were not pleased
When the news was sadly released
In spite of efforts to keep them away
The blue planet mob would come to stay
Probably labour for all their worth
To create a mess just like on earth
After successful quarantine all those years
It was so obvious that they'd soon be here
When the evacuation was complete
They'd left the planet nice and neat
Now they'd have to revise their plan
To continue the quarantine of man
To ensure their survival
After it's too soon arrival
Their galactic experiment had escaped
Was on its way for planetary rape
And all because some silly nutter
Didn't go and close the shutters
