Tourniquet

Pull the tourniquet tighter
Let life drain from her wrist
Watch as breath comes shallow
Bringing the end....
She won't resist

Her skin the pale of ivory
In her eyes a parting tear
Drop by drop her thoughts erase
As she relinquishes hope to fear

Some dare say a tragedy
Is the end of one so young
Yet with each fated drop she finds
An act of mercy closer comes

So tighten deaths sweet tourniquet
Until only a memory remains
Do not mourn for a life forsaken
For she finds freedom from her pain
