Snapshot of a Plant World

Turtles crowned with dandelions,
orchid's purple mouths
Lime green stalks of walking sticks,
Wear banded hats of brown.

Tigers lurking in the bush
With eyes that pierce the soul,
Ancient redwoods densely fenced
By ugly skinny poles.

Lichens pink attached to depth
White wedding thumbprints pressed,
Centurion of the forest guards
The fragile and bereft.

Tiny little slipper pods
Red evil Venus trap,
Devouring flies with ecstasy
No time to take a nap.
