The Whole PictureMark 8:34-38 Whoever follows Christ let him surrender, And take up his own cross to come along; For he must give up all that he may render, In order that his faith is to remain strong. For whosoever desires to retain his life, Shall have it eventually be taken away; But whoever gives it up only loses strife, Shall keep it as long as he does not stray. What profits a man possessing all the earth? And yet he decides to forfeit his very soul; What would a man exchange as true worth? For to allow himself to relinquish control. Because of Christ whoever feels the shame, In living in this false and evil generation; Then it would be impossible for to proclaim, The Son of man His death and resurrection. Do what's right not to feel later to regret, Weighing facts and looking at all angles; Since our Heavenly Father shall not forget, As the Son comes again with the Holy angels.
