The time has come we
must let you go.
I want to fall on my knees
and beg the Lord no.
There's so much more
I want to share.
Your being taken away
just seems so unfair.
What will I do when
I need to ask
a question about
an upcoming task?
Who will put the
kids in the tree
and smile with joy
for all to see?
No one can use
the frog cup like you.
You always know just
what it will do.
Who else can bend
a fork in two
and then use it to eat
not needing a new?
How many times can
you "hit" your head
and still walk away
without it being red?
What about that thumb
that comes apart?
It's always amazing
right from the start.
I know the Lord wants
you to come home
so you can tickle the
angels' funny bones.
Just know that you've
left a legacy true
that will carry on in
all those you knew.
When we are having a
rough day or two
we can fondly look back
at the man we knew.
You'll still bring a
smile to each face it's true
for we'll know the laughter
in heaven is because of you.
This was written in honor of my grandfather. He passed away 21 days after this was written from cancer. He had an amazing sense of humor that he shared with others daily. I read this at his funeral.
