Shane's poetry and prose

Hold Me Up Lord

Hold me up Lord
For I'm leaning on you
To give me the strength
And help me get through.

Each day seems so long now
Since he's home with you.
His days here with me
Seemed oh so few.

But thank you dear Lord
For sharing him with me.
Each day brought new joy
Since he and I became “we.”

I see his empty chair
And the radio plays no more.
Still I keep expecting him to
Come through our front door.

His labored breathing gone
He's been made anew.
I'm longing for the day
When I'll join you too.

But for now, hold me up Lord
For I'm leaning on you
To give me the strength
And help me get through.
