I Could be Somebody

I could be somebody, I could be great
I will have some troubles in life, maybe make some mistakes
Tribulations are a part of life, I mean, I really don't know
But they say there is a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow
If you give me a chance Momma, just let me live
I think you will be pleased with the love I have to give
Your cup will run over, no one could measure
The amounts of the pride, the joy, and the pleasure
It's my life, but it's your decision to make
I believe I could be somebody, I could be great
I could change your life, maybe give it more purpose
Be the clown that makes you laugh when your worlds a circus
I could be a doctor, lawyer, or maybe the pesident
You may think I am a burden, but I'm really heaven sent
Imagine birthdays, christmas, and my first day of school
We could dress up and take pictures, wouldn't that be cool?
I can see your tears of joy as you watch me graduate
You could help me be somebody; you could help me be great
To me it's not a choice; it's automatic that I love you
But it's up to you to choose if you want to love me too
