 Hank Williams

You think country music's so corny
Well each to their own tastes and views
Give me a cool stein full of Charlie Mit
With Hank Williams singing the blues
And I'll paint you stories of life
Of  joys desires betrayals of trust
And with its many and varied faces
The pleasures and pains of pure lust
Me and Hank travel this world together
He's always been there in my head
For those past fifty years at least
He'll be there to the day that I'm dead
We've lived those lovesick blues
Both set the woods on fire with joys
And in spite of distance and nations
We're just a pair of ol' country boys
Oh I did all that bit with the bottle
Saw parts of my life through a glass
Somehow I am here at the other side
All things in time come to pass
And Hank is still there with me
Take these chains is playing now
Step out from the shadows Hank
And take a much deserved bow
I couldn't have lived it without you
Your music helped me survive
Here's to you in Charlie Mit
Because Hank, I'm still alive
