God gazes down upon all the wondrous works of His hands,
watching the comets flame through space,
wonderfully crafted planets sparkle and shimmer far below,
stars in constellations too many to count catch the Father's eye,
and He sees that all is good.
His steady all seeing gaze shifts to that blue orb called Earth,
everywhere He looks people scurry about,
busily taking care of their business,
not an eye does He see turned Heavenward.
God smiles down upon these pitiful creatures called mankind,
remembering when he first made Adam and Eve,
of the sweet joy that they once shared,
til sin came into the world in that one bite of forbidden fruit.
He recalls that special and dark day when He provided a way,
for mankind to become one with Himself again,
He smiles sadly for nobody seems to remember what happened that day.
Lond ago on that fateful day on a hill called Calvary,
a great sacrifice was made for all mankind,
His Son's holy blood was shed to right the wrong.
God looks down once more upon that lazy blue orb,
seeing mankind running around as ants to honey,
ignoring that great sacrifice and paying their God no mind,
He shakes His holy head and smiles down upon His creation,
because He knows that someday soon they'll return to Him,
and close the book on Earth.
