Poetic-Verses from ATHANASE

Seneca (English)

He was the honour of Rome, its limpid strength, its consciousness,
the free soul of Spain, its airy grace!
For a long time, Prince, we've mourned his Stoic end,
clasping to our hearts his searing tragedies!

Translated into English by Norton Hodges,
one of the greatest British modern poets
