Children of the Light

Ephesians 5:8-14

You were at one time in the dark,
But now in the light of the Lord;
Allow your behavior to embark,
Traveling through the Holy Word.

For you are children of the light,
In everything that is good and true;
Because the fruit of it is all right,
With deception it shines through.

Proving to the Lord it is pleasing,
On His children in companionship;
As He gives a love never ceasing,
Being part of a bonded relationship.

Since the darkness bears no fruit,
While making a true quality clear;
Fellowship is unable to take root,
Where security is replaced by fear.

Anything done in secret is a shame,
But in the light true quality is seen;
For the truth is shown in the flame,
And the hidden will remain unclean.
