the Universal Wisher Man

Never give up on your wishes
Never ever let them go
A wish correctly followed
Can make an empire grow
Rich
Poor
Famous
Obscure
Silly or serious
They're one and the same
When it comes to business
In the wishing game
For every single wish expressed
Never ever disappears or dies
It goes to the appropriate desk
Where it fidgetingly lies
Until it comes to the attention
Of that proper pair of eyes
Of the Universal Wisher Man
Galactic Servant Superior Grade Five
For the correct and certain judgement
When or whether or not it comes alive
Times scales are a little different up there
At Universal Creation Civil Service HQ
Immortal beings having a different scale of time
From mere mortals like me and you
But the Universal Wisher Man
Never acts in haste
So though it may take for ever
No wish is ever a waste
And it may be exactly what you wanted
When and if it comes true
Or it may be slightly different
But what can you do
So many Different Existences
So many Parallels to make
It's not really surprising if
He makes the odd mistake
He's the Universal Wisher Man
He may make some dreams come true
So never lose faith in your wishes
Whatever else you do
