FaithBy Cynthia L. B. Bogear Walking in the shadow of darkness, A long and twisted road, No sight of happiness, No glimmer of hope. A reflection in the twilight, Cast upon the pale moonlight. A shimmer of the starlight, Sparkling in the dark sky. A girl walking the path of life, What a lonely place to roam. Ever changing as she goes, Growing from girl to woman on this road. On this road came Satan, Temptation waved to her soul. Mischief and Mistake came too, And danced in his glow. She turned to the right away from Evil, But Dismay pranced behind, Chaos was hot on her trail, And her demons were soon to follow. She ran as fast as she could, With Disaster nipping at her heels. She dropped to her knees, With Guilt hanging in the trees. As she cried and trembled, God came to stand beside her. Hope picked her up off her knees, And Belief dusted her off. Just when she thought that was all, Love fought off her demons, And Faith took her by the hand, Guiding her down the path. She came upon a light, As Faith pointed her in a direction. Faith touched her shoulder, And walked with her to the very end. Written 21 September 2005 Dedicated to Pastor Bonita Knox and Trinity Lutheran Church ELCA. Thank you for the inspiration.
