 Straight Talking

He was the Big Boss from London
We knew his reputation from afar
I didn't expect him to talk quite so much
Like a man who dealt in dodgy cars
He tried to bestride that little world
Tried to win us over with his charm
But I've seem chickens with more
Charisma on Billy Bulson's farm
He said we've made mistakes of course
We're only human when alls said and done
And running this international corporation
Isn't exactly all cream cakes wine and fun
We all know field morale is slipping
So I've come here for straight talk
After all it s what you're famous for
Up here in the County of York
I asked him if he was certain
Did he really want to know
Or was this  what it seemed
A face saving PR show
He said I can take it lad
Come on spit it out
So I talked to him calmly
Didn't rant or curse or shout
But he really couldn't take it
I thought he was about to cry
When I finally finished
Telling him our reasons why
He could dish it out
But not receive
As I later realised
When I was asked to leave
And all the promised support
Had somehow drained away
I received no help from Colleagues
Who strangely had nothing to say
However
Thought it wasn't my intention
They retired me early
With enhanced company pension
He was the Big Boss from London
We knew his reputation from afar
I didn't expect him to talk quite so much
Like a man who dealt in dodgy cars
