Beyond The Surface (Au-delà de la surface) (English)
Beyond the surface of your thoughts
I can see clearly the meaning
of this easy hour we've spent together!
A meaning carved with fine precision
on a world that's rushing by.
Through the silent stream of things
the soul climbs once again
to its kindly beginnings,
to Perfect Reason
and Celestial Destiny
which bear it up, like a small boat
clothed in light.
But beyond
all these lofty metaphysics,
I see around us, within us,
the piercing beauty
of this morning,
of this month they call September,
a new wellspring
of endlessly clear waters -
a sacred call that lives and acts silently
beyond the ages and the blue sky!
