The Heart of the Ruler

Proverbs 21:1-10

A king's heart is in the hands of the Lord,
Just like the majestic stream that flows;
Or even where the eagle may have soared,
It's by His pleasure what direction it goes.

Every way seems right to the eyes of man,
But the Lord is always testing the heart;
To do what is right and true to His plan,
More pleasing than an offering to impart.

A heart of pride that is filled with sin,
Also can only rule with a false tongue;
Lies and deceit comes out from within,
Through every breath out from the lung.

They have no desire to do what is right,
As their violent acts will be pulled away;
God has no intentions on giving insight,
For an evil ruler slaughtering its prey.

The best ruler whose heart is with God,
Than with having a bitter-tongued wife;
A ruler who praises with honor and laud,
And prays to God to help with his strife.
