 Nightmare

She sat on my knee and she giggled
Was this room getting suddenly hot
She looked in my eye and she wriggled
Pleased at the result that she'd got
A moment of indecision when she said
Where are you taking me on from here
With eyes that invited come to bed
But as I'd only attended for the beer
There was really no conflict for me
As I eased her on to the floor
Thus releasing my body so
I could slip out through the door
Blowing her a kiss
And saying goodbye
To that forward miss
Of those wickedly smiling eyes
A woman is a woman is a woman
And now oh how I love their charms
That heady sense of adventure
With a woman there on your arm
But in those long past days
I was in deepest love with booze
And anything that parted us
Was mad sad bad news
In my lucid moments
I had a dreaded dream
Of Abstinence enforced
And blood in the alcohol stream
She sat on my knee and she giggled
Was this room getting suddenly hot
She looked in my eye and she wriggled
Pleased at the result that she'd got
