old sea lion,on the shore

once on shore we came upon an old sea lion:
he had beached himself, you could see he was old and dying:

his body so wrinkled and worn:
his skin so weathered and torn:

seemed like he just wanted to stay on shore to die:
really i don't know why:

i thought to myself, this sea lion is old,and tierd of swimming for his life:
tierd of in the deep blue, avoiding predators strife:

seems he knew he couldn't swim fast enough anymore:
so he was just there washed up dying on shore:

seemed like he'd rather die, than feel the shark pain:
so he washed up on shore,to be at peace the same:

we chased him back in the water,i didn't want to watch him die:
i wanted him to survive or at least try:

he was so mad, showed his teeth, gave an angry howel:
he still had a ferocious mean growl:

reluctantly,back in the water he went;
we hoped,to his death he wasn't sent:

but at least he got to swim a little more:
we couldn't let him just dehydrate, and die on shore:

the circle of life is sometimes hard to take:
at least this sea lion was on shore for a little break:

we sent him back to the water,so he could swim:
his life for another day,we hoped he could win:

you know there was an evil shark lurking, looking for his dinner:
but we just hoped our old sea lion, got away the winner:
