walking wounded

walking wounded, people hide there hurt and pain:
it's like walking with an umbrella in the rain:

on the outside people laugh and smile with ease:
they are so polite and courteous, and always say thank you and please:

but on the inside, they feel great hurt and pain:
trying to keep for themselves the shame:

walking wounded we travel, sometimes for years:
walking wounded holding feelings of pain, without shedding an outward visible tear:

people hold there tears inside:
when they trust no one to confide:

if you stay and dwell on the past:
those hurt feelings will last:

a person can only run there race, at there own pace:
every step you gotta take,if victory you want to make:

walking wounded you just can't go as far:
it's hard to live up to par:

walking wounded you put your life on hold:
before your time,you grow old:

everyone has pain, they need to address:
you have to openly communicate,to be your best:

walking wounded, the pain inside, you gotta let it go:
then you'll see soon progress will show:

each and everyone of us,we can make the choice:
to rise up, win and rejoice:
