Without a Single Ray of Sun

If I must die and die I must,
or immortal I surely would be,
and that would condemn me to
live forevermore and place
me in a state that I would
never choose to be.

So when death finally comes,
my life will surely be done!
So who wants to live forever?

Not I,  you see… for all my kin,
friends and acquaintance
would be long done and that
would leave life for me
without a single ray of sun,
and in total darkness my
lonely soul would have to run.
