Poetry of Lonnie Hicks-New Manuscript-A Far View

Satiations

I flail
beyond satiation--
hands pressed against the margins--
excess my guide
availing.

Outer verges, boundaries
and limitlessness
draw from me
every  arrow
in my quiver.

I abandon everything for you.

All my givens burst
my hands now test limits
my rainbow's here
before the rain

I am dead on for you
urgently
in the minute transformation.

Art discipline
now abandoned;
Art my lover standing--
vision on the rosy tipped
intoxicating horizon,

reaching through
my filmy gauze
smashing blocks
of writing stops

breathes into me
respirations;

rainbow arcing
new exhalations
nacent molds phantasmagorical,
new time is born.

It feels like this.

Every time I take the wanton risk
for lust here drives
my pen
I think.

A certain hungriness
to see just beyond
the margins line
where lover
lifts my dawns
in odd hours
beckoning.

A bridge to cross each time;
dizzying
excessive steps to walk;

a culture by these
gained
or lost.

Every Artist's Creed:

Risk and Art inter-breed
Culture in the breach.
