She stands upon the dimly lit stage,
and quietly utters her dejected soliloquy,
speaking softly to an audience that can't be seen,
of her many mistakes and failures too numerous to recall,
of how things just never seemed to work out,
and that her best laid plans just weren't good enough.
She recalls the many loves of her life,
how they each failed miserably,
leaving her heart cold and broken,
she reminisces of the children they spawned,
and smiles at the beauty that they brought to her life,
then a frown appears upon her pretty face,
as she dejectedly remembers the pain that they left,
leaving her alone and without help,
ever having to struggle to survive.
At last her soliloquy reaches it's end,
she takes one last long halting breath,
and exits the cruel stage that was her life.
