Messenger of Christmas

Shepherds watched their flock by night,
When suddenly they had such a fright;
When an angel of the Lord from a light,
As the glory of the Lord shined bright,

The angel of the Lord said, have no fear,
Since I have good news for you to hear;
This will be for all people a great cheer,
As prophecy from Isaiah becomes clear.

For in the town of David on this day,
Brings forth a birth of a Savior to say;
He is Christ the Lord to where He stay,
Inside of a manger where He does lay.

Suddenly a Heavenly host filled the sky,
As spirits were praising God to glorify;
Singing of His Holy Name to magnify,
With peace on earth and men to rectify.

And when the angel went back to space,
The shepherds desired to go to this place;
So they could see this child face to face,
And being in the presence of His grace.
