Prelude to the MessiahA child be born to bear the name, Of John and who will sanctify; As a prelude to Christ to proclaim, Being a prophet of the Most High. We go before the face of the Lord, For the preparations for His path; Giving knowledge from His Word, And repent before the great wrath. The loving mercies of our God, Is very willing to forgive our sin; Since He knows of us being flawed, And opportunity of a new life begin. He will shine brightly in dark places, And not fear the shadow of death; So our feet be guided from evil faces, And enter Heaven after our last breath. There will be another that will be tall, Prelude to the Messiah, a strong spirit; Another as a prophet that will enthrall, To guide the righteous what they inherit.
