I sent out a message saying all come round and play
I'm packing I'm leaving I'm moving out today
So I stood out on the street and I played a tune
Using a pair of my best rhythm spoons
Willie joined in with chopsticks and litter bin
Quite a good start but volume still a bit thin
Then Mary arrived with mouth harp in her hand
And we had the basis of a street rhythm band
Quite suddenly the street was full of my friends
All celebrating my bringing one era to an end
With Maracas and cymbals washboard and jugs
And home brew flowing freely in half pint mugs
We danced and we played up the street and down
A melodious cacophony of living vibrant sound
I danced with the girls and I danced with the boys
Highly intoxicated from both the beer and the noise
We kissed and we cuddled and I had a good cry
Then I got in my taxi and all shouted goodbye
Still dancing and playing as I drove out of sight
I'd packed and I'd left and I'd moved out that night
