Oh! Why?

I wanted to leave, I planned to leave,
I tried to leave, but leave I did not.

Day in and out day only mundane
events, as the clock ticked away and
my space evaporated quickly through
the decades and thus the world passed
me by.

Now here and now, I say unto you!
"Don’t wait to go, don’t wait to do,
don’t wait for time to devour you,
or you will end up just like I…
too old, too tired, too late."

Now all I do is sit and cry,
and asking myself…
Oh! Why,
Oh! Why?

Jackie R. Kays

It’s two AM  and I’ve got that melancholy feeling again…smile.
