Fighting for the Lord

I am fighting for the Lord,
With a pen rather than a sword;
For the salvation to receive,
And a reason that I believe.

Others maybe a slave to sin,
Of lusts hidden deep within;
But His Word has built a wall,
Preventing me from this thrall.

When temptation tries to lure,
His Holy Word shuts the door;
Keep it from entering my heart,
That would cause me to thwart.

So I desire to follow His path,
And be spared from His wrath;
Walking a path of righteousness,
Being assured of His blessedness.

Deep within knowing that one day,
When I meet Christ along the way;
Bowing before Him on bended knee,
To be presented with a golden key.
