Ah it is the day after,
The flurry of activities done,
The tree and the gifts now barren
The smell of Good food lingers on!
The stockings all empty of goodies
The wrapping paper gathered and burned,
The anticipation now climaxed
In an easy-chair, what have we learned?
So much preparation for one day
So much time and energy spent,
A feeling of brief accomplishment
Of a Day 'ready come and went.
What if we treated each day
As a Special One worthy our task,
Each day would be like a Christmas
But the effects of it daily would last!
I'm not saying each day wrap some presents
And place them beneath a lit tree,
But little by little share those gifts
We all have, each day--they can be!
Don't think it's all done and over,
I done and I through with my part,
Let Christmas inspire each new day
To give of the Gift of your Heart!
And thus the Year's new beginning
Will start on a Positive Note,
A Challenge a day of True Giving--
With a new legacy to be wrote!
