There was a time
Many years ago
A true love we had
Where did it go
One day we were happy
Then we turned sad
We never did realize
The love we had
Looking back
Where has it gone
Memories are faded
Like a forgotten song
Trying so hard
To recapture the past
knowing deep down
It's over at last
Still wondering
What went wrong
All the lonely years
That linger on
Trying to remember
What it was like
Yet all is black
Like the dark of night
No going back
Living a day at a time
Was a time I was yours
And you were mine
For some, life ends
With nothing but sorrow
While others keep waiting
For a happy tomorrow
Others spend there life
living with the hurt
Ending up in a hole
Filled with dirt.
