Self SacrificingWe strive for life and liberty, With pursuit of happiness; And rights to own property, While asking God to bless. But did it ever occur to you, When we ask this in prayer; It is a conceited point of view, In asking more than our share. We tend to forget about Christ, While hanging up on the cross; With all that He had sacrificed, Causing His own personal loss. As in my dear departed mother, And never putting herself first; Always giving a drink to another, Before quenching her own thirst. We are merely just full of deceit, If not looking at our self interest; No denying we all have conceit, And not showing God our trust. Rest assured that He will provide, For each and every single need; When you throw away self pride, God will ensure that you succeed.
