A Morning PrayerStarting the Day with God What a joy this morning waking up, The smell of java that is in my cup; Birds flying pass through the air, As I kneel in private for a prayer. I want to thank God for a new day, And all the blessings sent my way; Ever present for a boost and hope, Traveling through life for to cope. I thank Him for my good health, As well as with all of my wealth; More than money of having value, Being rich in family and friends too. With starting out refreshed I also ask, Give me courage facing each task; Granting safe travel to and from work, Avoiding where the evil desires lurk. And in closing I ask Him to bless, Those unfortunate with even less; That they will be given an insight, Raising their faith in seeing the light.
